THE VISIONARY:
George Mastrocosatos
A leading Gold Coast developer has been named one of Australia’s top builders.
Southport-based Aniko Group, which is preparing to build a $15bn four-tower mega-project in Mermaid Beach, is the only Coast company to be named on BCI Construction League’s annual top national construction companies for 2022 – at No.8.
The list ranks Australia’s top 50 builders, which includes developer-builders and ranks them based on the value of their current projects.
Aniko has three projects worth $318m under construction, with more coming. Aniko Group founder George Mastrocostas said it was a significant achievement to make the list, just five years after the company’s launch.
“We’re especially proud to be among the few fully integrated developers and builders to be included in the BCI list.” said Mr Mastrocostas.
“The ranking sets our company apart from our competitors amid the challenges faced by the construction industry. We are very proud of what we have achieved to date and for the plans we have in train to meet continued demand for new residences on the Gold Coast.”

“I get a thrill out of seeing how we can improve, what is new and what we can learn from our competitors. That all excites me and is what keeps me coming back for more.”
